Practical Steps for Awakening Intuition for Entrepreneurs & World Wanderers

Intuition is a powerful tool, especially for spiritual entrepreneurs. It allows you to make decisions that align with your true self, leading to greater success and fulfillment in both your personal and business life. Today, we'll explore intuition, why it’s important for spiritual entrepreneurs, and some practical steps to awaken and strengthen it.

Intuition can be described as the ability to understand or know something without the need for conscious reasoning. Through a spiritual lens, it is often viewed as an inner guidance or a connection to a higher consciousness or the divine that helps align decisions with one's true purpose. From a practical and science-based perspective, intuition is seen as the brain's ability to draw on past experiences and external cues to make quick, informed decisions. It combines subconscious pattern recognition and emotional signals, providing valuable insights that enhance creativity, decision-making, and problem-solving. Whether approached spiritually or practically, intuition is an important tool for navigating life with greater clarity and confidence.

Benefits of Heightened Intuition

  • Enhance decision-making processes by tapping into your inner wisdom.

  • Improve client relationships by understanding their needs on a deeper level.

  • Foster creativity and innovation, allowing your art, business, or overall essence to stand out.

  • Reduce stress and prevent burnout by aligning your actions with your true self.

  • When you say YES to the direction your intuition is pulling you, it can lead to the adventure of a lifetime!

Techniques to Awaken and Strengthen Intuition

This journey involves consistent practice and openness. Here are a few of my favorite techniques:

  1. Meditation: Developing a regular meditation practice can help quiet the mind and connect you more deeply with your inner voice. Spend a few minutes each day in meditation, focusing on your breath, and allowing your body, mind, and soul to restore to ease.

  2. Journaling: Writing down your thoughts and feelings can help uncover intuitive insights. Try stream-of-consciousness journaling, where you write without censoring yourself, allowing your intuition to guide the stroke of your pen. It might take 10-15 minutes to get into the flow, but the insights gained are invaluable.

  3. Nature Walks: Spending time in nature can be incredibly grounding and enhance your intuitive abilities. Take regular walks in natural settings, paying attention to the sights, sounds, smells, and sensations around you. This practice helps slow down your nervous system and synchronize with nature's rhythm.

  4. Oracle Pulling: If you have an Oracle deck, take a moment to pull a card for a dose of wisdom today. Follow this with a few minutes of journaling to explore what the card reveals. Card pulling is an excellent way to gauge where your intuition stands, as each person interprets the card uniquely based on their inner guidance. The two decks I began my travels with are The Starseed Oracle by Rebeca Campbell and the Sacred Rebels Oracle by Alana Fairchild.

  5. Movement Practices: Attend that yoga class you’ve been meaning to try or turn up your favorite playlist and let your body flow to the music. Reconnecting with your body through movement is a powerful way to tap into your intuition. In today’s culture, it's easy to get stuck in over-analysis. Intentional movement can break this cycle and get your energy flowing again.

Let me share a quick story from my own life. Back in 2021, on a brisk fall day, I found myself strolling through Central Park. As the wind blew, leaves of every color danced through the sky. At the time, I was living in a gorgeous Upper West Side apartment with my boyfriend. The location was impeccable, just a couple of blocks from Shakespeare’s Garden in Central Parkβ€”one of my favorite spots to enjoy flowers amidst the hustle and bustle of NYC.

Despite the seemingly perfect setup, I couldn’t shake a growing pit in my stomach whispering, β€œIt’s time to go.” Something felt terribly wrong. At night, I would drown out the commotion of the city with sounds of nature from my Amazon Alexa Dot, only to realize I wasn’t even sure if those sounds were real or computer-generated. In my relationship, I began noticing that as time went on, I felt less and less comfortable with my partner. We started off beautifully, but as the months passed and the early pleasantries of masks began falling away, I found myself facing someone who mirrored the darkest essence of my shadow.

I have struggled in the past with self-acceptance, and this person had a lot to say about my body. He had opinions about what he thought it should look like, how I should feed it, and how I should treat it. Anger about all of this began to boil beneath the surface. It took quite a while for me to understand how important all of this was for my own journey. He showed me what I hated most about myself, and that gift set me off to travel.

Now, almost three years later, I am a full-fledged digital nomad and in a new, bountiful relationship with a partner who models radical self-acceptance to me each day. I get to work with impressive entrepreneurs, helping them shine their light bright by creating systems, supporting scalability, and leveraging technologyβ€”all from the comfort of whichever country I choose to be in. I share this story to express my appreciation for intuition. The pull to leave and travel without a return ticket was unexplainable. It made no senseβ€”I didn’t know what I was doing, but I knew that if I didn’t answer that strong calling, I would regret it. Intuition led me into the next chapter of adventure, and I’m excited to share more about it with you soon.

Intuition is a vital asset for entrepreneurs and wanderers alike, offering a path to more aligned and fulfilling decisions in both business and life.
